Rhubarb and Custard Dahlia Tuber
Rhubarb and Custard Dahlia Tuber – Apricot, Rhubarb-Red & Custard Collarette
Rhubarb and Custard was bred by world-renowned plant breeder Dr. Keith Hammett of New Zealand, officially introduced in 2016. This striking collarette variety has a unique dessert-like aesthetic — soft apricot or creamy bronze outer petals, a fiery rhubarb-red or raspberry ring around the middle, and a frilled inner collar of pale custard-yellow or cream twizzles, creating a layered, delicious color combination unlike any other dahlia.
Prolific and free-flowering all season, these plants grow to a well-behaved height of 3 to 4 feet. Sturdy, straight stems give it a tough vase life, and as an open-centered single form, it's also a magnet for bees and other pollinators.
