Sandia Barbie Dahlia Tuber
Sandia Barbie was hybridized by Steve and Sandy Boley of Birch Bay Dahlias in Whatcom County, Washington, introduced in 2024. This vibrant, bold Barbie pink to dark pink cactus dahlia produces large, striking blooms typically 6 to 8 inches across, occasionally throwing giant flowers up to 10 inches. A unique trait of this variety is its tendency to occasionally flash darker mottling or flecked blooms, sometimes revealing dramatic deep burgundy or red petals later in the season.
A vigorous, wide-branching grower reaching 36 to 40 inches tall (sometimes pushing past 48 inches), Sandia Barbie has quickly become a prominent showstopper both on the competitive exhibition bench and in cut-flower gardens.
