Lee's Canella Fizz Dahlia Tuber
Lee's Canella Fizz was hybridized by Lee Hemmings Carlton of Goldenrod Gardens, officially released for the 2025 growing season as part of her popular "Fizz" series. Fluffy, glowing coral-peach blooms measure 4 to 5 inches across, with laciniated petals — wispy and split at the tips — giving each flower a heavily textured, "fizzy" appearance. A slightly darker, raspberry-toned reverse petal adds depth to the center of the bloom.
The name was inspired by two ideas: Canella Prosecco, where the Canella family near Venice, Italy blends wild raspberry and white peach juice into their signature Bellini-style prosecco, and Canella, the Latin genus name for wild cinnamon, a native tree spanning from south Florida across the Caribbean.
A vigorous grower reaching around 5 feet, this variety is highly regarded for its exceptionally long, straight, sturdy, dark-colored stems, making it an excellent cut flower with a strong bloom-to-stem connection.
