Hollyhill Tempest Dahlia Tuber

Hollyhill Tempest Dahlia Tuber – Variegated Plum, Fuchsia & Maroon Incurved Cactus

Hollyhill Tempest was hybridized by Ted and Margaret Kennedy of Hollyhill Dahlias in Oregon, introduced in 2013. A striking variegated variety features plum, fuchsia, and rich maroon stripes and splashes over a lighter background — and because it's variegated, some individual blooms can playfully "sport" entirely solid maroon faces, adding an element of surprise to every stem.

An absolute giant in the garden, this variety soars 5.5 to well over 7 feet tall, producing whimsical, twisty incurved cactus blooms measuring 6 to 8 inches across. Its robust structure requires minimal staking for its height, though its expansive, "beast-like" width means it needs plenty of breathing room so it doesn't crowd out neighboring plants.
