Cornel Dahlia Tuber

Cornel Dahlia Tuber – Deep Cherry & Maroon Ball

Cornel was hybridized by Cor and Nel Geerlings of the legendary Geerlings Dahlia nursery in Heemstede, Netherlands, cleverly named by combining the couple's first names — Cor + Nel. Introduced in the 1980s–90s, this variety is considered an absolute "workhorse" of the cut-flower industry, featuring highly symmetrical, tightly-packed ball blooms in a rich, velvety dark cherry or deep maroon-red with a slightly darker core or purple flush.

Growing 3.5 to 4 feet tall on exceptionally straight, strong stems that hold upright without bending, Cornel is highly productive and long-lasting in a vase — and known for producing prolific, easy-to-winter tubers.
